Figure Skating Clothestwo or three questions about the beginning of Figure Skating (Clothing, Off-ice training and USFSA Basic Skills 1 and 2)?

Hello everyone. =] I Figure Skating Lessons begin January 12 and I have some questions.

Is it really necessary that I get the stickers for beige Figure Skating Basic 1 and 2? Or do I wait until later? I intend to wear sweatpants sweatpants / my first lessons with a T-shirt comfortable and light jacket. If I do the tights, do I wear under pants?

If I can not take off-ice ballet, these are things I can do at home, outside and in the gym? I thought about yoga, abdominal training, cycling, running, and bending. I know I need stability and balance as well, but what could I do for this type of training? What could I do?

Please describe the following figure skating tricks in USFSA Basic Skills 1 and 2:
Rocking Horse - (I thought this is a type of switching your weight forward and back)
- Foward alternating half mixers pumps in a straight line (slalom-like model)

No, you do not need to get the sticky stuff is fine to continue wearing pants, but if you're cold easily, you can wear tights under your pants.

Yoga and Pilate would be perfect. They both contribute to the balance, flexibility, awareness and core strength. Some type of cardio is also good for endurance.


A rocking horse is one Swizzle forward, one back Swizzle, and you keep alternating and you should make a form of football. You do not really move, just come and go.

One half is just a Swizzle Swizzle, but a foot straight. So, for pumps alternately, you must keep your left foot and right Swizzle your right foot, then switch. You continue to spend as you move forward.

You do not need to skate tights (unless of course you have been invited to wear them).

Besides skating I do yoga and work on my flexibility every day, I also heard that Pilates is supposed to be good to get a better stability (but I have not really tried).

I wish I could also help you describe the towers, but unfortunately, my English really sucks, so I have no idea what that is: P

You know a lot for a beginner! Your outfit would be perfect if you wear rental shoes, tights and you need not just be lower (no socks!) If you like real shoes, tights are so much easier if you do not want tights Tho normal, you can get tights that are mid-low and you can wear those sweats. Basic skills for 1 and 2 are swizzles uh, two feet, spins, rocking horse, and many other things u can see the Websight. Hope I helped a little.

Hello! Umm Well, I would recommend u get tights and wear them in ur shoes simply because I find it much less comfortable and you are less likley to get bulbs that you would be thicker socks, but if you'd really prefer to wear socks ensure they are fairly thin and Hi do because socks or thick wool socks make your feet are particularly vulnerable to blisters. Otherwise, your outfit sounds really good. It is important to make sure you are comfortable and able to move, and it seems like that it will make your outfit!

For the icing off what I do is heat for 5 minutes (you can use stairs, jogging on the spot dancing around or otherwise) that stretch for 30 minutes, work on my jumps for about 30 minutes and then work on the positions of my spin. Yoga is really good, and you might be able to find training videos, very helpful. Make sure you include enough cardio to give you the endurance of your program, you must do cardio propbably atlesast 30 minutes five days.
