Gore Cycle Wear

I take a weekend in Colorado, November 12. I was told it may be snow at this time. I am in the Denver area. I'm from Texas where the winter falls in the 50 to low for most of us do not see the 30s for a few days, and it has not snowed here significantly since 1985. So what should I bring on this trip? I will not go skiing, maybe some hiking, but that's all. I have some thermal fuse gore-tex that I wore for cycling, so I'll take them, but to be in the snow, what kind of shoes / boots? Pants, jeans or authorized? Thank you for all your comments.

It will give your dry skin from your sweat or snow ....
Use lots of layers .. better to have them, too hot, then take off what you need.

NEVER wear cotton .. once it gets wet, it stays wet and you will * really * cold all the time.

For hiking, I carry a thin layer of polypropylene, a heavy base topped by a ski pant. On top wear 2-3 layers of polypropylene long sleaved and a warm jacket outdoors is waterproof.

Wear hiking boots with Gore-Tex and well padded socks.

You will be allowed in jeans, it will probably be in the 40s and 30s. The high altitude makes the weather swing wildly, so it is difficult to say whether or not there will snow.It the snow today pretty well, too. Denver is a sunny spot, so it's really not that bad. Normal shoes sneakers are fine.

I guess it depends on how cold you are, tolerance also, people here do not wear light jackets in the 30s, but you may want more.


It is also much colder at night here (again, elevation), probably low 20s, high teens. So keep that in mind.


If you go to the mountain, it will be cold and snowy definitively, though. Denver, at the foot of the mountains.
