Supplements for athletes Nestled in Fairfield County, Conn., one of the richest counties in the United States, is the man many professional athletes call "the secret weapon." This is not his real name, of course, Jon Doyle is.
I recently took with Jon in New York where he was training one of its customers. Jon works a bit differently from other trainers as he does not name many of its customers all the stars.
They all signed a strict non-disclosure and as Jon puts it "If you have an athlete that tests positive for a drug test your reputation is ruined. And while my boys are clean, I can not risk my reputation on something that I can not control "(no doubt about whether an athlete has been taking performance enhancing drugs in the back).
Thus, while most trainers are lying about who they train, Jon's hiding them. I had a feeling this interview was going to be good!
My goal of this meeting was to get the scoop on performance and improvement of the supplements that average athlete can do to improve their game
PR 'Jon, Thanks for taking the time to meet me. Can you please start by telling our readers about yourself? "
JD "Sure, Phil, no problem. In short, I had better athletes. Even if I built my reputation in baseball, my clients are athletes from all four major sports as well as Olympians. These athletes all call me when they really need the results. "
PR "So I guess the athletes with whom you work are subject to strict procedures of drug testing."
JD "That's correct.
PR "What is your position on performance-enhancing drugs like steroids and growth hormone?"
JD "Well, there is no doubt that they work. However, they are illegal and prohibited by most organizations. So I will not work with any athlete who is not clean. "
PR "Is not put your athletes at a disadvantage? How do you get your athletes ready to perform against the others who are clearly the use of performance enhancers."
JD "It is certainly not an easy task. My athletes are all I miss what any athlete wants: increased speed, power, strength and muscle mass and decrease body fat, recovery time and injury rate. Obviously with performance enhancing drugs it gets easier, but in my mind that this is not an option because it's illegal and unethical. Thus, we use a combination of unique training methods, good nutrition and supplements-the-counter. "
PR: Oh, over the counter supplements. That is what I came to save the day. What is wrong with these anyway. There's a million and a society that exists. It is so confusing to find what works and what does not. And it seems every time an athlete tests positive they blame on tainted "supplement. What is the problem here?
JD "Well, first, whether an athlete of his pawns drug off on a tainted" supplement it is full of it. These guys know very well what is happening in their body. They are lying.
Second, you're right. Choose a supplement on the shelves crowded can be downright impossible. The big secret is that almost all companies selling the same thing!
It all comes down to marketing. Very few companies have something "cutting edge" as they claim. Except for some unique products, it is all windows.
Of course, I can not tell you or anyone else what supplements to use that I am not a doctor, I can give an overview of what my players to use. This course is for informational purposes only, okay? "
PR "Okay!"
JD "First, we start with the basics. Nothing fancy here. A multi-vitamins, omega-3 fish, creatine (5 grams per day is all you need) and some protein powder if necessary.
Then it gets interesting. Please understand that I get boxes of art
