Rhythmic Gymnastics ShoesHow do patch / repair holes I in rhythmic gymnastics toe shoes?

I have a pair of Capezio toe shoes pirrouette, they are leather with a lining lyrcra within the upper part of the shoe. Smooth leather upper and sole is suede.
Anywho, I have a hole in the side of them and another is coming in the other shoe. I was wondering if there was a way to patch them so that the hole does not deteriorate.
I thought something like duct tape, perhaps? Has anyone else tried?

I tried but I just had to buy a new pair ...
