bruising easily toddlers .... Could it be food? Our 15 m / s is the "no fear" of climbing and racing scene. Today, she bumped her head against the corner of a wall and it swelled terribly and bruised. An hour later she bumped her head slightly (I was there for it) on the corner of an overstuffed chair .... Again, black and blue and a little swelling. .... Later today after getting home from our travels ... I took off her tights and her legs are bruised!
: (I wonder if the bruising and swelling may indicate a problem in diet? It is the stage where it refuses to eat certain things (well, most things) ... she drinks Vit D whole milk, some fruit, some eggs, and CARB nothing (Cheerios, crackers, bread, etc..) Could the bruises and swelling to be an indication of a lack of protein / iron? Something else? It has always been very active and had normal accident ... but none has caused such an outcome.
Tx in advance!
Hello, last month, I discovered that my son 13 months has been anemic and his pediatrician told me to make sure I always give him more food conatining iron and also vitamin C (helps absorb the iron). My daughter has been drinking too much milk that was losing its consumption of foods fortified with iron and other WAY to eat carbohydrates (bread and biscuits). This has changed since then. Since it does not get much red meat again, I gave him oatmeal and cereals for adults entriched w / iron, also W spiniach mixing his Mac and cheese. She ate a little lean ground beef / cheesburger. And she loves Turkey and cheese sandwiches on wheat toast, which also contains iron. I try to give him OJ diluted at least once a day. I noticed two months ago that my daughter seemed tired and out had a look purple under his eyes. But do not worry, w / in a few days of dietary changes and iron drops, my baby looked so much better. Take Your Daughter to the doctor and they will be his test lab, but until then try to offer him more food containing iron or vitamin C. I think it s quite common for one month old 15 to be bumped and bruised a bit, while learning to walk around and control their balance. I think their skin is super sensitive. The only thing we can do is keep our eyes on them and the baby as much evidence as possible. :)
It could be as simple as anemia (iron deficiency). I have occasional episodes of anemia and when I do I think is a bruised foot! There might be other reasons for the bruises. Your best bet will be to take her to see her pediatrician, tell them exactly what is happening and see what they have to say.
If the doctor tries to brush insist, if you feel the need, that your daughter gets a work over. Sometimes doctors do not see what we parents see in our children. If you feel that something is wrong, do not let go.
Good luck.
This could be a sign of many things, but it may just be bruising easily. If I were you, I would like an appointment with his pediatrician. More than likely the pediatrician will run tests to rule out the possibility of either a medical problem or discover what is its origin to bruise easily. I hope the results prove nothing. Good luck to you.
Is she receiving multivitamin drops baby? It could be possible that it is low in vitamin A, in particular, or does she make low-grade fever often? T-it act of discomfort or tires at times for no reason.
The best thing might be to have a blood test done so. Childhood illnesses and diseases are often discovered because of how the body reacts to certain things ... bruising / swelling is known to be indicative of certain conditions, but without the investigating physician this may take a good amount of trial and error to discover.
A quick blood work and checked by the doctor can work faster to put your mind at rest and ensure that e.
