Dancing for Religion

Many religions in the world and throughout history have used dance in honor of their gods, to celebrate the seasons, and simply as an outward expression of joy. Christianity has mixed feelings when it comes to dancing. Some religions believe that all kinds of social dance can lead to forbidden acts or thoughts, and tend to disapprove of dance in general as a result while other Christian religions believe there is a time, place and purpose for dance. Some have even incorporated the dance in their religious ceremonies (weddings for example). Most will agree that dance is a matter of personal belief in the Christian religion because of the heated debates that may arise on the subject.

Dance Hindu religion is an essential form of worship different aspects of the Divine. This dance form is often mistakenly referred to as classical Indian dance when in reality it is a form of worship. There are different dances for different deities that each god has a different preference.

Even the religion of Islam has its own version of dance to worship. Those who practice this form of dance for the sake of worship are often called dervishes.

This dance style has been used throughout history and around the world by many nations and cultures as preparation, training, and morale for the impending battle. Competitive Dance

Worldwide, there are those who dance competition in all dance forms. Forms of recreational dance to spiritual forms of dance competitions are fierce competitors and often devote their lives and the vast majority of their free time to refine and develop their particular forms of dance. In the dance competition, the judges deem the artistic expression, technical skills, costumes and consistency or the execution of movements.
