Lord Jesus Christ, freedom of worship Sometimes we are so inhibited. We cover ourselves. We hang blinds and curtains on the windows. We tint our vehicle windows. We keep to ourselves, do not dare to be real with others and do not feed deep, meaningful relationships even with our Lord Jesus Christ.
On the other hand, some of us walk around indecently exposed, we express ourselves very freely through dress, hairstyle, piercings and tattoos, pickets, and boycotts.
So why it is difficult to worship God freely?
Why do we feel ashamed of "letting go" in front of our Creator Lord Jesus Christ that He knit together in our very fiber of our mother's womb?
It amazes me on Sunday morning. The same people who have spoken openly to the football match current state (or sit) still for the hour of praise and worship.
Some types of quasi-mute (during worship) will talk about the ear off at lunch or on the phone. I do not understand.
King David was caught in the cult once - to the horror of his wife Michal - that the people of God brought the Ark of the Covenant in captivity. (2 Kings 6:14) Michal David ridiculed for engaging in public worship.
Maybe she thought it unworthy of a king to display such emotion. Or maybe she did not understand what a heart for God would do. David said he was not ashamed, and do it again! Despite his mistakes, David lived a life of worship to God and was not about to give up the freedom that comes in praising him openly.
Do you have a heart for the Lord Jesus Christ? Are you ready to "naked" to worship? Some say a heart for God, but let inhibitions stand in their way of enjoying the true freedom of worship alone or with other Christians.
Are you embarrassed of your own sin? Is it fear of what others think you stop?
We are all sinners! King David was a sinner! But because of what our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross we can stand firmly in the face of God!
We can sing and jump and dance in front of him, because David did! Go! Start to sing and praise Him with your mouth. Raise your hands. Dance. Clap. Oh Freedom! Sweet freedom!
